SOUL MIRROR

This collection of paintings was born out of a deep longing to reclaim the feeling tone of life. Each one of them is a journey home to belonging in the face of the constant change that lies at the heart of being alive. An experience both of the stillness in the middle of movement and the motion that is inherent in every silence. Creating them felt like a re-wilding of the felt sense of knowing we carry in ourselves and the remembering that meaning is created only through us. 

A sensual experience of movement in stillness. A reminder that we have never been here before. Each moment is an open doorway, beckoning us to a fresh beginning, a new perspective. New and familiar with every glance. Holding the promise with a deep soul trust: I see you on the other side.

Their creation is deeply inspired by the wild soul of the islands of the wind (Tahiti), where they were created in the embrace of a natural world that felt vibrant with ancient Earth memory and whispers of soul recognition to me. Creating them became an act of untamed permission to reclaim what makes me come alive, and bring the essence of the natural world and the Earth wisdom that felt so palpable in these lands into form, remembering that we create meaning through us. Movement made visible in the embrace of stillness and the untamed flow of permission at the heart of listening. 

Now that it is time to share them with you, I  hope this virtual exhibition can offer you a sanctuary to pause in the middle of the flow of your life, a meeting place with yourself, where you can feel nourished  and inspired,  an open doorway of permission to feel and to connect to your essence, whatever that means to you.
